Hey Guys,

Big THANKS to all the Cobras involved in putting together the tourney.

Being injured this year meant I got to watch a lot more games than usual (as I'm old,  I'm usually nursing my sore bits in the jacuzzi at the hotel).

From what I saw it was a great weekend of hockey. A good advert for British Reccy Hockey.

Once again the Jonkers rules made it fast end to end hockey in all games and all teams seemed to pick up the idea quickly.

All the teams looked like they were having fun and sweating loads after the games.

We lost our legs on Sunday, maybe the 2 late nights drinking was not a good idea but as I always say,  it's not the winning that matters - it's about how drunk you can get.

All my guys loved it and were very sore today which proves you've been to Hull for the weekend.

Look forward to next year already and if anyone wants us to come and play at your rink or if you want to come to Braehead from October 2010 to March 2011 then get in touch

brian@paisleyblackhawks.com

Cheers

Brian

The Blackhawks would like to wish Mo from Dumfries Demons and Juraj from the BlackBears a speedy recovery.

Hi Brian

Thanks for your reply regarding the tourny.
It's always good to hear back from other teams (especially when they say good things) and I hope all the other teams feel the same as you guys. We like to think that Hull has a bit of everything to offer, great hockey, great night life and a great atmosphere.
I do think the level of hockey is improving through out the country and I thought it showed over the weekend.
Our games against you guys was, as expected, hard and end to end with lots of "action" which always makes it fun to play and watch.
We look fwd to defending the title next year.

Regards

Chris

Lads,

On behalf of the Solihull Vikings I would like to thank and congratulate you all on a brilliant weekend, great hockey and good laughs, not to mention the copious amount of beer consumed on Saturday night!! Also to say well done for winning the tournament.

It was difficult to watch the games, as I wish I had been playing, but you never know if I come back from Canada in a few years I might just get to play!!

Once again many thanks for all your hard work, I know a hell of a lot goes on behind the scenes organising the event.

See you at Sheffield!!

Might want to tell a few of your own team that motto then, some rather pathetic behaviour from a few of your team over the weekend, especially at rec level.

This sums the weekend up. It was my first 'Hull weekend' and had a brilliant time. Jonker rules took some getting used to but they were fun to play and everyone got loads of ice time. Off the ice had a right laugh. Roddy from Kingston wallet must be hurting after that round in Sugar Mill  Grin

Cheers guys looking forward to next year already!

Glad to hear you had a good time. Like all rec things, it's not just about the hockey, it's about the team spirit and having a laugh (and having a good drink)
